SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

The company fleet is currently being converted to Fully Electric or Plug-in Hybrid engines, with PHEV and EV vehicles now accounting for over 30% of the fleet. Several charging stations have been installed at the Sovico headquarters, powered in part by the company’s photovoltaic panels —cubes and three-dimensional monoliths— which harness the energy of the sun and air to produce and store renewable energy.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT

The energy efficiency enhancement plan of Beta Group has already led to the replacement of lighting systems of all production areas with low consumption LED lamps and the renewal of electrical installations and electronic systems. All medium and high voltage oil transformers have been replaced with modern and more efficient resin transformers, thus avoiding the disposal of oil containing PCB.

IMPROVEMENT OF PROCESSES AND REUSE OF RESOURCES

The continuous improvement process implemented by company management has led to the installation of aspiration systems at our work centres, fitted with absolute filters, with re-emission of filtered air in the interior, thus avoiding the release of air flows into the atmosphere.

OPTIMIZATION OF WATER USE

In the galvanic department of our plant in Sovico (MB), we have installed a vacuum evaporator for the treatment of wastewater. The system concentrates the water used in the chromium plating process and separates potentially polluting waste elements, preventing them from being discharged into drain water.

The purified water, which accounts for 98% of the total, is then distilled and recirculated to be reused in subsequent production cycles, thereby maximizing process efficiency and ensuring a reduction in overall water consumption.

In all shavings removal processes we are gradually replacing the use of mineral or plant oils with highly recyclable bio-polymers, thus reducing the disposal of waste deriving from lubricant oils.
